FingerWeights apply the basic principles of progressive resistance training as a means to increase gentle range of motion, endurance, flexibility, dexterity, precision, and overall strength. Both the Original and Flex provide proprioceptive and kinesthetic input so the person can better sense the position of their fingers and the movement of their fingers.
Under the guidance of a healthcare professional, FingerWeights can be part of a therapeutic program to treat a number of disorders of the hands and fingers and as part of a post-surgical rehab program. People with stroke, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, and other medical conditions affecting finger strength, coordination, and proprioception can benefit from FingerWeights.
Along with the more obvious health and wellness aspects, musicians, athletes, and gamers, looking for that edge, will also benefit from utilizing FingerWeights to increase endurance, flexibility, dexterity, precision, gentle range of motion, and overall strength.
However, FingerWeights WILL NOT increase its user’s talent level, or necessarily make them better at their chosen activity. Just like an amateur musician won’t become Jimmy Hendrix just because they bought a Fender Stratocaster, and a few guitar lessons, FingerWeights are a training tool meant to aid the process, not solve the equation. What FingerWeights WILL DO is allow its users to practice their activity longer with a reduced risk of injury, increasing range of motion and overall strength.
- Training with FingerWeights WILL improve:
- Range of Motion
- Training with FingerWeights WILL NOT:
- Increase Talent Level
- Increase Muscle Mass
- Make Fingers Feel Heavy Post-Use
WHICH MODEL IS RIGHT FOR ME?
The Original FingerWeight incorporates 10, 20, 30 gram adjustable resistance per fingers, and is designed with a three arm clasp for less intense motion.
The Flex FingerWeight incorporates 10, 20, 30 gram adjustable resistance per fingers, and utilizes a strap design for more intense motion.
Training with FingerWeights will increase endurance, precision, finesse, and were designed with the help of medical professionals to ensure the proper resistance levels were being used. With 10, 20, 30 gram adjustable resistance settings, FingerWeights are able to target both the extensor and flexor muscles in the fingers and hands to help increase kinesthetic feedback and proprioception. Whereas some of our competitors work one side of the finger/hand (i.e. GRIPMASTER for brute strength), or try to utilize "rubber bands" for resistance, FingerWeights are unique in that they can be worn both as a standalone device (incorporating recommended exercises), or while practicing, or playing, a users' chosen activity. There isn't another product on the market that compares to the functionality of FingerWeights. Whether you are a musician, athlete, gamer or someone recovering from, or rehabilitating, a finger/hand injury, the benefits of FingerWeights are often felt after the first use. (as with any exercise, please remove at first sign of fatigue).
