The fifth and final installment of our feature series on hand therapy clinics finds us coming home and highlighting Chicago Occupational Therapy, an OT clinic whose primary focus is children. Whether treating sensory issues, ADD/ADHD, fine motor and/or daily living skills, the Chicago Occupational Therapy Clinic works closely with parents as well as other medical professionals (pediatricians) to ensure every child has the individualized care that they need.
At the Chicago Occupational Therapy Clinic children work to build independence through "critical, age appropriate skills that are needed to complete daily tasks." Every child moves at their own pace, and the primary goal is to work with parents in order to make them the experts on the strategies to promote their child's progress and independence at home, away from the clinic. Per their website, "Parents can carry over their child’s therapeutic success by using provided home programs and strategies."
